Breacon Beacons Ride
Another quality BoB Leisure Weekender to the Brecon Beacons – superb trails, company, fun and laughs along with glorious Welsh weather (honestly)!”
BOBs do Exmoor
Possibly the best away trip with the BOB jersey in a generation. 35 members made it to Exmoor for the annual gathering in September. It can’t get any better. Thanks Richard for a fantastic weekend and looking forward to the next one!
The Great Divide
Andy has decided to ride the Great Divide from Canada to Mexico. He managed 1,100 miles in August and he is now in Wyoming. Lets see how September goes.
Lots of BOB members entered the Gorrick 12:12 enduro race. BOB’s Fat Hooters managed a 2nd place podium (despite being on fat bikes) and Lou and Rich also grabbed a 2nd in the mixed pairs. Well done to everyone who entered in what was a great event.
BOB members took part in the Southern Eduro race with some very good results.
Farnborough Air Show
The BOB top matching the brave and fearless Red Arrows.. and that’s where the analogy ends.
Snowdonia weekend ride
More than 15 riders made it to Coed y Brenin, Llandegla and Antur Stiniog park in Snowdonia for a great weekend of trail centre riding and camaraderie. We were very lucky with the weather, plenty of sunshine, and the excellent accommodation and facilities at the Bunkhouse. Great job Richie (& Co)!
Peak District leisure ride
Take 2 of BOB’s Peak Distict summer trips. This time a more leisurely gathering in the Peaks – typical weather, fantastic routes and amazing scenery!
BOB Team performing the annual Brewery inspection to confirm everything is working as it should..
Almost 20 riders signed up for another fun day on and off the bikes (even though the number of people that rode back from the Brewery was apparently 40). The outing included a pub lunch and a Brewery tour to sample the best local ales.
Many thanks to Hogs Back Brewery for receiving us one more year and Anna for organizing it.

Saturday Morning Ride
In other news from the weekend, Pete Smith broke his shoulder on the Saturday morning ride. Pete finished his first Iron Man event last week commented that “this hurt much more”
Forest of Dean
A few of the BOB members went to the Forest of Dean. Graham took a good video as well. No one was hurt either riding or in the bus!
Summit 65 event and new shirts
10 BOB members took part in the Summit Chiltern Cycling Festival. It was a great chance to show off the new club shirts and enjoy a day out on some fantastic trails.
New Shirts on the way..
The long awaited new design BOB shirts are on the way. Meanwhile here is a nice photo of the “classic” BOB tops from the Thursday night ride.
Peak District Away Ride
Rudi led a ride round the Peak District and even managed to make a couple of videos as well (his choice on the music front!) slightly damp on the first day but great riding and sunshine on the Sunday. Nice trip to the pub for dinner / refreshments on both days.
Afan Away Ride
Juliet organised a great day out to Afan. The sun shone and their were no injuries.
BOB Riders in Scotland
BOB Riders in the Lakes
A few hardy souls set off for a nice ride up Snowdon.
Sunday leisure away ride
The Sunday leisure ride headed off for Tunnel Hill and Porridge Pot and enjoyed a canal centre stop on the way round.
Chilterns away ride
14 BOB’s enjoyed a ride around the Chilterns taking in the best of Chris and Mandy’s local trails. A few cheeky climbs and some great down-hills.
Sun is out
The sun was out at the weekend and all the usual rides went out and were supported by lots of BOB riders. We also had an introduction ride with 8 new potential members finding out all about the club and what we offer. Our next intro ride is the Saturday the 30th of May. If you are interested in coming along click here.
Easter BOB away trips
Jon Clucas took a gang to the Isle Of Man to ride the whole coastline (103 miles of it) as far as I am aware he does something with aeroplanes although maybe he should go for the job as the Manx Tourist Board photographer?
BOB’s in Scotland
Mark took the camper van up to Scotland with Ian and Dave.
Louise secures 3rd in the Gorrick Spring Series.
Anna takes part in her first race and secures a podium 3rd place finish!
Jump training course
The second BOB jump training course went well. No serious crashes and with the excellent professional guidance of http://www.mountainbiketuition.co.uk/ everyone was getting a lot more air!
New Shirts are on the way
Our new shirt design has been agreed and we will shortly go into production. Its a bit of a departure from the “retro” yellow and red one. We also took the opportunity to update our mascot “psycho biker” to better represent the club. The new improved mascot is neither gender nor wheel size specific!
Sunday Roast Ride
32 BOB Members set out at 9:30 on Sunday and finished up at the Frog and Wicket at 4 for a full roast dinner. By the time they had covered 36miles of single track they felt like they had earned it.
